The person from that youtube channel a few people watch.
I'm just picturing the company who made them having a warehouse full of them when schools admitted how pointless they where & stopped ording them. Desperately trying to find new markets for the several million they had to stock. After all if an Atari jaguar case can be reused as dentistry equipment.

There is a very nice Sri Lankan restaurant that uses the exact same red folder as the National Record of Achievement. Every time we go there I get high school flash backs.

In terms of appearance it's my favourite Amiga. Mine could be in better shape, but I also don't want to change it, as it current appearance embodies the role it has in its working life as an office machine.

I feel like this could be the plot for a modern reboot of "Rebel with a cause", but this time set in an IT department in the 90s.

I dont know what it is about Colin talking, but my immediate reaction was "Oh I'm not sure that a good thing".

When I saw it was only 2 weeks away I might have let out of involuntary panic swear.

I dont think I've ever posted a picture of a game box in context or otherwise. So I present instead an out of context unix machine.

Ironically handbreak is the easy friendly UI wrapper around ffmpeg, so poeple don't have to deal with all the cli options.

Or just watch 1 of the 100s of videos on YouTube that explains howto do the thing you want todo. Which is how most people these days figure out howto do the thing they wanted todo under Windows and Mac also.

By heck James that was a quick change, thanks for doing that so quickly, appreciated.
October 29, 2025 at 8:46 PM
As that's not the case would you mind not longer using it.
October 29, 2025 at 8:43 PM
Hi James, sorry to add to what might feel like a bit of a pile on, but would you mind not using my channel name as part of your branding. It was not something I was not aware of until today, but a few viewers saw it and wanted to know if I was involved in your channel.

My assumption is ego too in these cases. There is no financial gain to be had, and those subs will get wiped out in the next YT subs purge.

So I have to rename the files in the form SnExx. Its still worth it for me, as I can just stick the disk in the drive, and I get a message once it's ripped.
October 29, 2025 at 10:43 AM
For ripping my disks I've started using some software called "Automated Ripping Machine", I was running that in a docker container on my NAS, it's now running on my kubernetes cluster. For films it works great, tv box sets not so well. It rips everything fine, but does not name the files correctly.

I do like physical media from that point of view too. Also the first thing I do with it is rip the blueray, and then watch it by streaming it from my NAS. I was using video station that came with my synology NAS however due to the lack of support, then it being discontinued I've moved to Jellyfin.

Same for me a few years ago it was a mix of mostly what I had sub'd to, and a handful of other interesting videos that let me discover other interesting channels. That worked for me rather well, it's current incarnation does not.

As a viewer youtube's recommendations have become less and less useful to me over time. I just keep going to the subscription page now in order to get to see the videos I want to watch.

Even if they did implement it, finding a 2nd machine to network with the one you have may prove challenging.
October 28, 2025 at 5:41 PM
That is a lot of cpus and ram in there for the time. I'm intrigued by the network ports on the back.
