When Bluesky restored my hacked accounts, they did not lift the restriction on posting videos. The support team took two weeks to get my response telling them what happened, and now I have to wait until they read the further info I gave them. So no new (or old) videos here for a long while, I guess.

Gold Blend couple
Nescafé Gold Blend/Taster's Choice
1987-1993

Anthony Head and Sharon Maughan played Tony and Sharon in a serialised campaign covering the couple's complicated romantic bond over coffee. The adverts were so successful that the two reprised their roles for Taster's Choice in the US.

Nescafé introduced two new Gold Blend couples later in the 90's - Louise Hunt and Mark Aiken, followed by Simone Bendix and Neil Roberts. Louise and Mark's series enjoyed a healthy six instalments, but did not achieve the same recognition as the first. Simone and Neil did not go further than one ad.

Sure-Eddie
Frosted/Coco Shreddies
2000-2004

A smug, sporty boy who would tempt anyone considered a "geek" into tasting Frosted or Cocoa Shreddies for the first time, knowing that the taste would overwhelm them as to send them zooming up like a rocket. "Too tasty for geeks!" It was the early 2000's.

The Spenglers
Sky+
2010

A blue beast voiced by John Goodman moved from the city of Monstropolis into human territory. Sound familiar? Well, this one brought his wife and kids. This sitcom-style campaign for Sky+ ran through the last third of 2010 and saw this fuzzy family adjusting to British life.

Reminded me that there's a certain John Goodman-voiced beast from the city of Monstropolis I've been dying to post here...
In Japan, tourism to Portland, Oregon, is promoted by a grinning blue monster named Odnarodude. He’s at a Portland artisan event in Jiyugaoka De Aone this weekend.

Aeron
Aero
2001-2003

This mouse hula-hooped his way into UK audiences' hearts to sell the aerated chocolate as "all bubble, no squeak." Ads saw his breed sold alongside Aero bars, only to be rejected or disposed of despite their talents. For Aero Honeycomb, a Taiwanese singing mouse was introduced.

Sunny D
2003-2005

A boy who only ate fruit and veg, declaring his love for spinach and sprouts to the shock or annoyance of others. Not only did a solely healthy child being depicted as friendless concern parents, but Sunny D, the so-called "healthy" soft drink, was ridden with additives.

Sunshine Chip-A-Roos (circa 1971-1996): Chocolate chip cookies from Sunshine Bakery, released to directly compete with Chips Ahoy, touting that they were made with "100% real vegetable shortening, not lard!" as their selling point. Discontinued when Sunshine was acquired by Keebler.
