Rep. Shontel Brown
@repshontelbrown.bsky.social
Proudly Serving the People of Ohio's Eleventh Congressional District.
Myesha Watkins is a pillar of our community. Her efforts to improve public safety and mitigate violence in @cuyahogacounty.bsky.social are admirable and as she receives the Capstone Achievement Award from the University of Chicago, I wanted to take the time to highlight her work across eastern Ohio.

Trump’s agenda pardons the powerful, protects the predators, and punishes the people.
And Black Americans are paying the price.

70 years ago today, the Montgomery Bus Boycott began. The largest boycott in American history, it was a key turning point in the Civil Rights Movement. Their courage is a reminder to us all to never stop fighting for racial justice and fundamental rights.

Army Tech Sergeant Alma Minter of Cleveland passed away before she was properly honored for her service in the historic and iconic 6888th Army Battalion in WW2…

Proud to announce my bill to rename the Collinwood post office after Clevelander and Six Triple Eight Tech Sergeant Alma Minter passed the Oversight Committee!
December 4, 2025 at 7:03 PM
Today I joined colleagues in the @newdems.bsky.social to announce our Health Care Action Plan – a response to the Republican health care crisis focused on lowering costs. I won’t stop fighting to lower premiums and co-pays, cap drug costs, expand telehealth, and keep hospitals open.
December 3, 2025 at 10:50 PM
The Oversight Committee just passed my bill, the SAMOSA Act 43-0!

This is a huge win for government efficiency, preventing duplicative software spending, saving taxpayer dollars, and helping ensure agencies have modern systems.

This is what good government looks like folks.

On this day in 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested for not giving up her seat to a white passenger. Today, we honor her courage in standing up for Black Americans at a crucial moment in history. Let us remember her dedication to civil rights and use her example as as a reminder to never accept injustice.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very Happy Thanksgiving!
November 27, 2025 at 3:48 PM
What Congress SHOULD have done before the Thanksgiving holiday:
November 25, 2025 at 10:34 PM
Republicans have made everything more expensive — even Thanksgiving. Thanks to Trump’s agenda everything from the cost of cranberry sauce to turkey is up 10% from just last year!

Trump's ACA cuts aren't just bad; they're brutal for OH-11, and now families are paying the price. Here’s what Talia from Cleveland says she is going through thanks to Trump’s agenda.

The Epstein Files matter because the survivors matter.

Tonight, I stood alongside women who are fighting for justice and accountability. Epstein and his enablers caused so much pain, but they are not backing down. End the coverup, release the files, deliver the truth.
November 19, 2025 at 1:18 AM
I’m on my way to vote YES on releasing all of the Epstein files. The American people deserve to know the truth, the survivors deserve justice, and the perpetrators need be held accountable for their crimes, no matter who they are.
November 18, 2025 at 7:42 PM
I just spoke on the House floor to expose the truth about who Donald Trump is really working for. Spoiler alert- the answer is NOT the American people.
November 18, 2025 at 3:26 AM
Yea, I’m not waiting on this supposed GOP health care plan.

The truth is Republicans have had TWO DECADES to produce a bill to lower health care costs and protect care.

They don’t have a plan because they don’t want to lower your costs. Period.
November 17, 2025 at 12:16 AM
The lengths that Trump and Republicans are willing to go to in order to coverup the Epstein files is a serious red flag.

The people deserve the truth, and next week I will vote to force the White House to release the files.

Update on November SNAP benefits in Ohio
November 14, 2025 at 11:15 PM
I didn't stutter back in September when I sounded the alarm on the Trump administration's efforts to block the release of the Epstein files. So I'll say it again: RELEASE. THE. FILES.
November 14, 2025 at 10:08 PM
I stood with the @demwomencaucus.bsky.social to declare in one voice: HANDS OFF OUR HEALTH CARE. 38,000 Ohioans in our district will lose coverage because of GOP cuts. It’s up to Congress to act to help save access to care nationwide. This fight is not over.
November 13, 2025 at 10:32 PM
📣ALERT: @repjimcosta.bsky.social and I called out Trump’s plan to bail out Argentina's beef industry. 50 House members joined our letter, because while the White House claims they put Americans first, they sure are treating American ranchers like an afterthought. Full letter below:

I voted against the Republican spending bill that locks in massive health care price increases.

Ohio cannot afford Trump's agenda. Trump's greed and Republican cuts are breaking health care in America.

FACT: After hiding for 7 weeks, House Republicans are back to lock in their massive ACA cuts, raising costs for 500,000 Ohioans. I’m standing with House Democrats to keep fighting to cancel the cuts and lower the costs. I’m a no on this sham spending bill.

Today we honor America’s veterans. Their sacrifice reminds us that democracy endures only when we defend it. We honor their service by continuing their commitment to freedom.
