Had the chance to spend some time with Alabama’s future workers at the Montgomery Academy For Career Technologies. These kids will come out of high school ready for college or to start a career! This is what workforce development looks like!

Today, we celebrate the 78th birthday of the U.S. Air Force. Thank you to everyone who has served and continues to serve our country. I also want to celebrate the Tuskegee Airmen whose heroism shaped history and the Air Force into what it is today.

Every witness I questioned today at the House Ag subcommittee hearing on SNAP confirmed that Trump’s big, ugly bill gives states the power to cut off federal food assistance for everyone if the state does not cover the cost share.

Yesterday marked the 60th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and its impact cannot be overstated. I joined the @splcenter.org last night to reflect on the battle for voting rights and discuss the urgent fight we are in now to ensure fair representation for all Americans.

This week, I introduced the bipartisan Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) Act. This bill would change the law so that rural and natural disaster prone areas are prioritized to receive funding to strengthen their critical infrastructure.
