Ordinary Rendition
@renderjudgment.bsky.social
Attorney (not yours), healthcare compliance professional, greater Minnesotan, lifelong Gopher, North Star State devotee. None of the opinions expressed here are my own.
Seems really important to know how much pasta is imported from Italy vs. imported from elsewhere vs. made domestically (and I don't).

I didn't believe anyone was irredeemable until now.

I completely agree that a lot of people were doing it in part for other reasons, but a) many were doing it indirectly for money (the retirement plan and job security, for example) and b) I suspect that if you made the money (direct and indirect) somewhat lousier a lot of people wouldn't stay.

No no, millions of people should be working for the federal government just for the love of the game.

What experience is required?

Yikes.

I so don't understand this. Between Die Another Day and Casino Royale there was no explanation for why Bond, an experienced agent, was suddenly getting his 00 status. Was anyone like "WHOA what's going on here?"

Unless they waive a jury, which they could and almost certainly would.
November 11, 2025 at 5:23 PM
Oh no! Whatever will I do?
November 11, 2025 at 1:05 PM
Not sure how much you've thought through "social mores were enforced by mob violence instead of the rule of law, and that was good."
November 11, 2025 at 12:38 PM
Well, no, you linked to a law firm's website that attempts to synthesize, but does not quote, Supreme Court decisions.
November 10, 2025 at 9:42 PM
You think *that's* "neurotic and deeply weird," huh?

"This should end in purges."

They're also quite allergic to taking cases with high-profile parties unless the issues are inherently tied to high-profile people.

I hear it's quick and easy to hire and train experienced air traffic controllers, so I'm not worried at all.

That's always the way Minnesota state appellate court concurrences are.
November 10, 2025 at 4:59 PM
Do you have a citation for this unlikely proposition?
November 10, 2025 at 3:30 PM
Sure seems like something that should have been prosecuted under 18 U.S.C. § 242.
November 10, 2025 at 3:26 PM
Oh, sounds like the Fifth Circuit went the opposite of the way @joshgerstein.bsky.social is describing.
November 10, 2025 at 3:04 PM
Is there even a circuit split here?
November 10, 2025 at 3:03 PM
Yeah, I don't really mean "jam" in the sense that anyone is sticking it to the House, just that the House would fumble.

I don't think it's that they'd stay out of session to defy him - I think it's possible that they are too afraid of the Epstein discharge petition (or, maybe even worse, being unable to pass the Senate bill) that they stay out of session for the foreseeable future.
