As I get ready to vote, I found it disappointing that only two (Conservative and Animal Protection Party) of the five candidates running in my district have email addresses where I can reach out to ask about their positions on topics important to me. I have reached out to those two.

Ahead of tomorrow’s International Human Rights Day (Dec 10), and the anniversary of the global adoption of Universal Declaration of Human Rights, I’m reflecting on the amazing human rights defenders who risk their lives and safety to stand for justice, dignity, and rights, speaking truth to power.

I was thoroughly impressed to see the Denyse Thomasos retrospective, along with exhibitions by Ginok Song, Billy Gauthier, and a special exhibit on Mi’kmaq Art at The Rooms in St John’s. Go see these if you can!
