Our recent article in Next Energy examines how AI-driven data center electricity demand could evolve through 2035. We show that outcomes depend not only on AI tech, but also on symbiotic coordination among AI/data center operators, and grid providers. Read here: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Exploring the AI electricity crisis scenario: A case study of Texas-ERCOT

Spring rain today, which Bill Fay will therefore not have seen, he who passed away two months ago... Beyond being the link between Nick Drake and Dylan, he is above all the perfection of minimalism in music: sublime, stripped-down, chamber-like, twilight-tinged, miniature. youtu.be/kMP704Kec8c?...

In 1882, Edison’s grid lit up Manhattan; today, AI’s energy demand strains the outdated US grid. Our research shows AI could drive 20–50% of US electricity demand growth by 2030, risking shortages and fossil fuel lock-in. Modernizing US infrastructure is urgent.

I am glad that CEOs finally admit over-hyping a technology. It is interesting to see that Microsoft CEO wants to pay for compute instead of buying it... Analogy from housing market, I rent if I do not plan to stay too long in a place.

It is funny that we knew about this huge waste of money called #ChatGPT already 2 years ago, but just a few listened. What is scarier is that there are still people seeing any type of intelligence in #LLMs.

I love Dunning-Kruger... if you are one of the few above who are still in the "wow"-peak ;)

DeepSeek, a small Chinese AI startup, has flipped the script on Silicon Valley. With just $6M, their model is outperforming billion-dollar U.S. giants and topping global charts. It’s a reminder that in AI, modern « low tech » algorithms can outsmart deep pockets. www.nature.com/articles/d41...
