The excuse is HIPPA privacy. In theory you can't hack fax.
Given that our data is being "shared" to a plethora of quasi-medical "wellness" providers, I think HIPAA is to privacy what TSA is to flight safety.
That is to say, BS.

I turned 60 last week. Presently not sure which hilarious episodes were in my late twenties, mid thirties or early forties. So time doesn't mean as much as action.

I've yet to see a "film of the year". Sinners looked intriguing, at least original. GDT's Frankenstein looks to have incredibly beautiful art direction, but 2025's output has yet to wow me.

I've been closer to it than I ever want to be again. There's a massive vested interest in the status quo, and when there appears to be a shift, it's generally engineered theater to stir up the mob. Keep 'em mad at "the other side" so they'll never watch what "our side" is doing.

The system is broken. Neither side of our political "system" has a desire to fix it because there's money and power to be had prolonging the problem. Someone has to be blamed to keep the pigs in power. And it can't be the pigs.

Immigrants are vulnerable to corrupt people on both sides of the border who use their status as leverage to extort money, and force them into illegal activities out of fear of deportation, reprisals against family, or worse.

The Americans did not move up into better paying roles in the economy for the most part, they became an underclass dependent on government assistance programs that are used as campaign issues by both sides to insure voters and contributions.

For absolute ages the "illegals" in the American southwest have been doing physical labor jobs like seasonal farm work, residential construction and repair, gardening, lawn maintenance and housekeeping precisely because many Americans stopped doing these "menial" jobs.

If the rewrite was to reconcile the growth you experienced as a writer later in the process then that's part of the organic process of story construction. The only "right" way is to be true to yourself and your vision.
