Some days, it feels like we are truly living in a parallel universe. Brinksmanship, chest puffing and utter horseshit in abundance. I would imagine most sane people are well and truly fed up with all of it.

Someone needs to reimagine social media. Right now, it’s utter shit.

Handy guide.

Two hundred and nineteen pounds sterling to renew a passport that is basically useless outside of the UK. Someone is taking us for a ride.

It’s 2025 and it’s still impossible to get cellular coverage (and, ergo, WiFi) on a train in the UK. What a little backwards country we really are.

I’m struggling to comprehend the utterly tragic nature of the story of the Philly jet crash. Literally lost for words. 🥺

Nah, don’t turn a tragic incident into political point scoring. Have some respect for those lost and their families.

The amount of AI-washing out there is nuts. It’s worse than the great cloud-washing storm of 2009. Can someone make it stop? Please.

A beautiful morning in South Wales! After scrolling through social media, I’m recalling a recent train conversation with @reillyusa.bsky.social about desired outcomes rather than on technical solutions in our day to day work and I can’t agree enough. Drive outcomes, cool tech should be a byproduct.

What a year already. 7 days in and Junior Trump has invaded Greenland.

For the avoidance of doubt, the UK is messed up enough without Space Karen trying to re-colonise it.

Hard to know what’s really happening in Seoul, but it’s a little worrying when your daughter is there at University. Spoke to her, she said all is ok. 🥹

Cloudflare is one of the few vendors with RCAs worth reading for fun. Even if you don’t use the service, they’re brutally honest and an educational lesson in resilient cloud architecture.

Other than the predictable Trump posts (that I have zero interest in as Brit with an American son), this feels like old Tw1tt3r. Long may it continue.

Loving the current topic of cyber resiliency. It’s obvious to some and uncomfortable for others. That’s what makes it such a good conversation .

Nice to have lots of new followers. Thank you. I am trying to follow everyone back, but, wow, it’s a bit laborious.

Munich. Long week. 6 countries. Countless meetings. Fun times.

It’s really only when you experience the inter-country seamlessness of European rail travel that you realise the UK system and price gouging is a basket case of biblical proportion.

Saw some fleeting updates from Microsoft Ignite. Am I missing something or is Azure Local just a rebrand of the giant mess that has been Azure Stack / HCI / Arc?

Laughing at the excitement around Windows 365 Link. Kids these days, honestly.

I think there needs to be some programmatic or configurable way to auto follow those who follow you. Manually, it’s a chore. @bsky.app

I think it's worse than that - it doesn't meet EU standards but the supermarket is happy enough to sell it to us. It's probably made from horse.

Looks like we are taking a hard line post-Brexit. Imagine trying to embargo some of the best cheese making countries in the world with our own stuff. Proof, if it were needed, that the world has gone completely mad. I may move to Australia soon.
