It would be a great idea for a filibuster to read “Nobody’s Girl” - the book by one of Epstein’s victims - on the floor of the Senate and keep shaming the Republicans for refusing to release the Epstein files.

"un-painless"?! He's a complete liar & phony arrogant ass of a man. If only he weren't powerful and dangerous I'd dismiss him completely. The Pubs are *thrilled* about this shutdown. They'd like to keep it shut forever. Destroying the government is their plan. And they are playing us for fools.

Perhaps this is an opportunity to get rid of health insurance entirely and demand universal healthcare for all!

The nodding behind him as he spews nonsense is extra infuriating.

What better way to wrap up a shopping strike than Giving Tuesday. It fits. 💙🫂💙

This would be much stronger and more possible if the focus was simply NO SHOPPING only necessities etc. (Adding in no work, travel, projects is a privilege and dilutes the impact. IMHO.) Biggest shopping season = a big bust would be amazing!

Let's pretend that we are in agreement typically. Don't you have any problem with this being funded by donors and corporations looking for how it benefits them? Doesn't it frustrate you that he lied (again) and then did the exact opposite of what he said? Is there no aspect here that bothers you?

And here I thought it was because Vance is a misogynist, elitist, lying opportunist who has no decency nor real pedigree to be in the position he was given, other than his ability to raise money for his boss through cryptocurrency, which DT otherwise would not understand.

2 significant differences: 1) No other President SWORE that they *weren't* going to demo the building before skipping all approval processes and - demolishing the WH without any input. 2) No previous projects were portals for donations from high-end donors. It's not the demo that is destructive.

In his 1st term, Trump met w Putin + authoritarian leaders *alone*. I recall thinking that wasn't a standard suited to success. Instead, it would naturally provide opportunities for abuse of power and "lessons". I recall saying "DT is not encouraging democracy; he's asking how to get away from it."

I was not being ironic; I do appreciate a broader context. And yet, for every historic adjustment to the WH, there has been an approval process, rather than a lie that demolition won't happen, until it does. www.architecturaldigest.com/story/white-... & www.architecturaldigest.com/story/white-...

Cool perspective. Question: were those projects all funded by corporations counting on tax cuts and other favors?
