I am kind of good at many things
Writer, machinist, singer, artist, mechanic when absolutely necessary

All people have the right to freedom of expression, freedom to self-identity, and freedom to speak their mind, so long as they aren't harming others
We looked at some cool plants today
I love arboretums
Boyce Thompson Arboretum is a really good one

Well we get these every morning and night so it's a fair trade off

It's #destinytober25 and my sketching skills are unpracticed

But my build is meta and we take those

I fully support the turret building, wizard hat wearing, orb pondering Warlock main

Yes it's generalization
It's also a perfect portrait of me 😤

Labor day is a wonderful time to visit your closest national park or monument! Go touch grass, but don't touch the angry succulents! And bring a comb for the Cholla 👌

Great trip to LA, I get the hype now. LA people, you've convinced me! Seeing MCR was a bucket list event, and I highly recommend the Aquarium of the Pacific and the Huntington library/museum/gardens!

The world should have more library/museum/garden combos, I could have easily spent all day there!

Fun in the machine shop today - this endmill galled, filled up with 17-4, and turned brighter than the sun for about three seconds

Before the thermal shock made it explode

The fun never stops because now the 17-4 workpiece is VERY hard and will likely cause more explosions in our near future!

Something cool I started doing while #machining is compare the tools that start to wear and make bad parts with fresh tools as I switch them out

Direct comparison on a 3/8 flat carbide endmill, new tool on the left and the worn tool on the right

G10 is abrasive to cut, and wears out the tools.

Got the vinyl of one of my favorite bands today! Flipped it over and found out - it's signed!! #thefamilycrest

I work as a machinist. Sometimes parts just... Don't want to work with you 🥲

It's beautiful! It needs to be deburred!

...The letters overlap the chamfer because the programmer accidentally chose the wrong edge and now the entire part is scrap because of .005 of an inch! 😭

I heard a variety of bad noises on the machine shop

First one was supposed to be a straight cut and the table caught on something behind the ways, making it leap forward

Second one just cut a little too heavy and decided to marry the plate

Haven't gotten deep into a phone for a while but it feels good to take things apart and put them back together, especially if they still work afterwards! And work even better in this case.

Ignore my choice of workspace, the cat was on the other table 😂

Is this how every boomer feels about the internet as a whole?

...okay that was an extended bit, but we got em

Life moves pretty fast in one year. I guess I'll keep learning to be the best me I can be, and we'll see what the next one has in store
