Also another update that I posted on my server around a week ago, though this one is more just talking about the things I've been struggling with, I don't hide that I'm from Venezuela, so anyone's who's been up w/ the news can guess where this is going since my family still lives there + other stuff
Random update thats also kinda a vent post? idk, not gonna tag Also its 3am here so keep that in mind while reading, I'm writing this while I'm unable to fall asleep from how stressed I am lol so Apologies for the silence and the lack of replies/posts, I'm rly damn deep in a depression pit and I just don't see a way out :^) Between the US wanting to start a war with my home country (Venezuela) and all the problems with ICE as a whole in the US (I have many family members and friends over there who I'm worried about) and ALSO Argentina just going deeper and deeper into hell (all prices keep going up even if the news keep talking about how "things are improving", they're not, my internet provider charged me an extra $10USD and god knows how much my rent will cost next year, I cannot afford basically anything at this point) As I've mentioned before, in just two years my rent has gone from $65-100USD to $450USD (which is all I used to get in a good month of work, I haven't had one of those in a while) At this point I'm, quite literally, trapped in this country with no hope for the future. My parents can't even afford to leave Venezuela either and they've been struggling deeply too, I can't go back due to MANY reasons beyond "I don't want to" (and honestly, I don't want to go to the place the US is threatening to attack almost every single day, to be fair) Things are bad, nothing is improving, every day is bad news after more bad news and I'm not getting any better. Before, after I had to stop taking my meds, I had to choose between drawing and cooking food, I didn't had the energy for doing both, now I don't have the energy for either of them no matter what, I can go hours hungry simply because I can't even do ONE thing anymore, that's how dire it has been, I am feeling very hopeless and discouraged and I just don't know what to do, I keep hoping I'll get out of this damn burnout or whatever but it just feels like coping more than actual faith that it will happen And I know I'm not the only artist dealing with this sort of situation right now, which also makes things worse honestly, even just thinking about drawing destroys me, I keep breaking down everytime I touch my tablet with the intent to draw, I keep having nightmares about drawing, I can't even draw personal things anymore, there's no joy or exciment to be found in art for me at this point, but that's all I'm good for, so what can I even do anymore? What does it means for me, if the one thing I could do is not longer an available option? It sucks, honestly Anyway, this is basically what I've been dealing with these past few months, and the fact that my birthday is around the corner is honestly not helping at all, I just wish I could skip ahead of october at this point, but even if I did, its not like next month will be any different in a good way, will it? Like, I have exactly 1ARS, or approx. 0,0007USD, left to survive for the rest of the month, so the joke tells itself at this point On top of ALL this, my tablet and laptop are both starting to show signs of wear, so this too has been adding to the stress of it all, specially because I **cannot** afford to replace them, the moment they die its the moment its truly over, so, you know, fun things to keep in mind in these times Again, this might just be the Unmedicated Depression talking, who knows, all I know is that I'm tired, both emotionally and physically, things keep getting worse and I can't push myself anymore, which sucks cuz thats pretty much game over for me, isn't it? I can't do the one thing that I need to do in order to be able to survive, so what then? And there's now 9684 different GenAI models online that can make way better images than what I could do in my whole life, so that's also not helping me rn Shit sucks and things are bad, I'm doing badly, nothing has changed from last month or the last 6 months, so apologies for how that has affected work and all, my mind is beyond broken lol

Hey folks, this is a general update that I posted on my discord server that I'm making public now
TL;DR: Apologies for the delay in work, things are bad on a global, national, and personal level for me, I'm still trying, but it is very hard, and I'm really sorry for all the waiting and lack of posts
I'm still in my apartment despite everything, its been hell trying to keep up with it all, I've been getting help from so many different sources to pay off rent and I'm deeply grateful for that, its just been very hard trying to stay on top of the bills and also working as much as possible. Things in the world are pretty damn bad right now, there's no way around it. In Argentina, things are pretty damn fucking bad, and most days the news here are just hopeless (or lies about how "everything is okay" lol) but I am still working on things as fast as I can. I'm deeply sorry for those that are still waiting for art, my body is failing me, but I haven't forgotten about all the stuff I owe and I'm working on them as much as I possibly can, I've been trying to NOT take more work this month while I still owe a lot for others, but its been rough, I can only do this thanks to the help I get from others (And I'm rly grateful for that, I don't think I'll ever be able to properly give back as much as I've gotten from other folks) Truth be told, I'm really messed up both physically and mentally, I've been getting rly damn sick these months from going weeks without food, and the stress is at similar levels to when I was back in Venezuela in 2017-2018 which is Bad, it means nightmares, paranoia, physical illnesses like stomach problems, headaches, back pain, etc. Unfortunately I live alone, so all the responsibility falls on me, and it is a lot to deal with when it feels like the world is falling apart around you as well. I know this sounds cliche, and at this point it really is, but I promise I am trying as much as my head and my body allows me to, I am not the person I was in 2020, I don't have that energy anymore, I don't have any meds for mental/physical bs or day-to-day help in my apartment, I know its a lot, and I'm sorry for it, but I really am trying as much as I still can, sorry about that, all I can do right now is hope someday things will improve for everyone

Apologies for the long wall of text but this is something I've been pondering since I first found your account and this might as well be the perfect moment to let it all out. Your art I think is genuinely one of the few thins that actively make me happy nowdays, not just in a "oh it looks nice" way, but rather–I feel like it grabs me and forces some good emotions out of the cave they usually are in, that's what I mean by active, its not just something I stare at for 5 seconds before continuing the endless road of doomscrollling, every single post "forces me" (for lack of a better term) to actually sit down for a few minutes and just take in your art, and I couldn't be happier this way, its been a long time since I've felt disconnected from a LOT of furry art as a whole, been trying to find inspo elsewhere, but god, your art like–it truly reminds me WHY I joined the fandom and what made it so fun and interesting at first, it reminds me of being a kid in the best way possible, edgy and colorful, fun and with a wide array of emotions and thoughts and ideas, so dynamic and unique in a way that's hard to put into words, but nonetheless I'm trying haha Your use of colors specially is something that I genuinely love, it all feels so vivid and full of LIFE, just so you know I was so NOT a fan of green in characters before, and I'm not sure if I would be but GOD your art makes it work for me, I love how every piece feels unique and experimental in its own way, there's been some recent pieces that I just stare at for minutes cuz Its like wow!!! Thats genuinely so amazing!! (To bring up a recent example, the drawing u posted here, titled "HUNTING SEASON" I LOVED IT, I specially loveee the background like the colors and the use of graphics and halftones, the poses, the mix of it all coming together, its just so damn cool!) Your anatomy reminds me a bit (IN THE BEST WAY) Of wayyy older Furry Art, like that 2005-2010s ear kinda??? But its fun, I mean it in a fun way, it doesnt feels like there's limits to what you can do, not necessarily in the literal cartoon way, I wish I could explain it better but its simple enough that it allows for creativity to fill in and yet its also so dynamic and full of energy that it doesn't comes off as boring or stiff, its a pretty damn good balance!!! The THEMES of your drawings–I love them, I've been always been more on the edgy side of things (even if my art probably doesnt reflects that) so whenever I find someone that hs like,,, that specific type of 2005 emo edgy thing that my brain craves is amazing, but even better is that it feels like you took the idea and made it your own, as in–it doesnt feels like its following a trend or anything, but rather just a natural part of your art, idk I love it!!!! I love that it can be cute and it can be sad and it can be trippy and it can be calm and GOD it just has so much range and,,, like your art just feels free, it might be a weird way to explain it but like !!!! Idk I look at your art and it makes me feel like anything is truly possible, it might be weird!!! But its nice to get tha feeling when everything else feels so bad constantly That's how I would describe your art, its fun, its unique in the best way possible, I don't wanna call it childish due to the negative meaning and all but there's just so much young joy from it, like!! When you're a kid and anything feels possible and the world looks brighter and everything is awesome and you'restill learning the rules so they might as well not exist, THAT'S how your art feels like, taking all those feelings and putting it on paper (or, well, a digital canvas) Your art genuinely, genuinely brings me so much joy (I might or might now be close to crying rn just thinking about it, who's to say) I still remember I was like, "WHY???" when you followed me kgjdfkjd I still dont get it, but I'm glad that it exposed me to your work nonetheless, your stuff is beyond great, and having doubts and fears is completely understandable, don't feel bad for asking for reassurance cuz god knows sometimes its really, really needed Your art really makes me happy everytime I see it, I'm too used to being inspired by artists in a more "technical" way (like, "Oh the textures/anatomy/colors are great!" but kinda stops there) that it feels a bit,,, like a lot? To remember that art can have this sort of impact too, this is not to say of course that your art isn't skilled cuz it REALLY is, I feel like your understanding of art really shows in every piece, but beyond that, beyond the technical and skills and all, it makes me happy, it fills me with joy, it reminds me of being 11 and finding furry art for the first time online, and that's a feeling I don't think any other artist has given me so far, so seriously, thanks for that, thank you for sharing your work online and for everything you do, even if I never comment (I'm not that often on my main cuz it makes me anxious haha) and it might seem like I'm not around, I still look forwards to your art, and it is the greatest thing ever Keep being awesome <3
