My brain is full of furniture logistics. Swapping out original pieces to maximize for more storage in my small city home. So far, shipping 200lb armoires equals many broken pieces & hours on the phone with customer care. Some day I’ll have the storage I need…some day

I don’t promote my professional work often but pretty proud of this one that came out today on the Writers Strike. I edited it in a single day and yes, it was unscripted https://youtu.be/afxfeLJN0_E
Writers Strike 2023: How Strikes Affect The Economy | NerdWallet
The writers of the Writers Guild of America are currently striking due to residuals from streaming media (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime). Strikes and protests have happened throughout history, often resulting in major changes to workforces. When labor unions go on strike, it results in loss of pay and picketing. With the latest rise of strikes from teachers, pilots, and the Writer's Guild of America to pending strikes from SAG-AFTRA; Nikita Turk talks about the financial implications these strikes have and how you can financially prepare for one should you somehow be impacted. #NerdWallet #Economy #WritersStrike Subscribe to NerdWallet - https://bit.ly/3wGvVf3 About NerdWallet: We’re NerdWallet. New research shows that Gen Alpha believes that all shirt-wearing animals are just trying to sell them something (likely true)
I swear Smokey used to wear a ranger shirt… were there always shirtless Smokey billboards out there, or is this a new, thirstier Smokey for the modern era?

Halfway through today I realized it’s a long weekend A) clearly need it because works been a scramble B) oddly lovely to find out you have extra time off and nothing planned

Related: After spending weeks wondering why the songs from ‘little Spiderman’ aka Spidey Team sound so damn familiar, I finally realize they are by the lead singer from Fallout Boy?!?!?

Singing Proud Mary ‘nice and easy’ and pouring one out for a music legend & fashion icon. Her voice, her style, her swagger *chef kiss* Tina Turner, the world is significantly less soulful without you in it

I’ve been diving for over 15 years and thought maybe as I got older I just wasn’t going to the ‘good’ dive spots because I combined dive trip with relaxing vacations. No where I go seems to have the colors and diversity I remember from when I first started diving. Reef death is real and widespread.
Thread on why I have sympathy for the orcas sinking boats:

When I started snorkeling and diving, I saw what was beneath the waves for the first time. It was really beautiful, and really sad. Whole coral forests are dying, and it’s hard for people to notice because the surface looks the same.

I’m assuming this is the housewarming pineapple Hammond brought you. It looked delicious! And I’m pretty sure I’d have done the exact same
I think it may be that my tongue got eaten up from eating too much of it and it’s now bleeding? Idk

Peridot gives me tamagotchi vibes making it completely uninteresting to me. Pokemon Go got people out into the world exploring and looking for rare items. Familiarity of Pokémon definitely fueled some popularity but the game was mobile-first in a way we hadn’t seen and deserves credit for innovation
It turns out the interesting thing about Pokemon Go was the Pokemon and not the augmented reality gameplay. Who could ever have guessed that?

@joabaldwin.bsky.social well frankly this is magical and if he didn’t replay to this, I would be offended on your behalf. Nick Offerman as Cats is amazing and totally made my day
One of my fav twitter moments was when Nick Offerman replied to my stupid photoshop of him playing every character in Cats (2019), which sprouted a whole lot of other memes.

when you find a cross-country flight for roughly the price you used to pay pre-pandemic, then instantly book it thinking it’s some sort of algorithmic glitch and you may never find this price again (likely true)

Wonder what happened to those delivery robots that you’d sometimes see running errand around the city? A engineer turned one into a Michelle Branch puppet + piano and recreated the icon ‘A Thousand Miles’ music video in SF. It’s the random little things like this that refuel my love of SF

I met many of my dearest friends through Twitter and am still close with several former employees who dedicated years of their life to building it. I think a bit of grief over a platform/app we’ve connected to & spent years of our lives using is a totally valid feeling
might sound silly, but I get genuinely sad and angry about twitter dying sometimes. like, damn, that was the platform that got me my first job that let me move out of rural Oklahoma. I spent a lot of time building my platform on there. very unfortunate
