Hell, this isn't just a 'them damn zoomers always on their tiktoks thing' either.
I think in almost every Giant Bomb Quick Look video I've seen, the most veteran games journalists around just mash or talk through tutorials only to get confused and stuck ten minutes later when it's time to do stuff.

You wanna know why we're having nag line discourse in 2025? Because developers know we're fighting an attention economy war we'll lose no matter what. Players don't read, have TikTok open next to them, god forbid we are scared you miss something and then blame us for not giving you all the info.

So I think a reason why Metroid usually ends up a mess writing-wise is because nobody really knows who Samus IS -- myself included.

this is so cart-before-horse to me. i don't accept that people's attention spans are shorter in a way that has to matter. the problem is that we keep thinking that and "complying in advance" with the imagined boogieman of "people not paying attention nowadays". nothing done in that direction helps

when you see a kid on a phone rapidly switching between 8 different games it's weird and alienating, but pay some attention: they're doing it because the games are all shit and keep wasting their time with ads and predatory bullshit. give them 1 good app and they will stay in it. there ARE none

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
