A sad memory from that time period was having taped a VHS full of episodes of AMP, lending it to someone at HotTopic that I was trying to impress, then never getting the tape back. 🥲

Will queue up DESTROYER this week to pay respect.

I feel like I saw this video on MTV's AMP show late at night in the late '90s and thought it was cool as hell.

I still listen to Alec Empire's "Low on Ice", but don't go back to ATR that often. The video you shared made me a little sad.

I turn to red/black decks for similar reasons, the mechanics and themes of fast and dangerous.

I don't mind losing quick games, I don't like playing against blue/white decks that play like an older sibling going "quit hitting yourself, quit hitting yourself" with no quick way to finish the game.

So you're part of why I bounced from the game. I've never seen a game from this side of the table.

I've been playing ✨Magic: the Gathering Arena✨, and it's been fun to dip my feet back in that pool…

…up until the bottom drops out and I'm no longer playing with other casuals with pre-built decks, but instead, with try-hards. Here are some choice matches as evidence.

I didn't know patatje, but it makes sense. "-tje" is totally worth explaining, my wife and I still use it with English words.

I love and miss oorlog.

Tell'm about kapsalon, which fit into that poutine/nacho fries category for me.

If someone is wanting to cut down on their drinking, then I agree.

This crawl space might become my "well", like from Murakami's "Wind-Up Bird Chronicle".

This is just the footage that makes it on the trailer, some of the other footage is too distrubing (not kidding).

Thanks for sharing this. I entered the UK on a Skilled Worker Visa, and was Thankfully able to secure a Global Talent Visa after a contract ended (and right as Labour changed the SWV from 5 to 10 years to apply for ILR).

The current political situation is pretty scary.

I totally missed this show when it aired, but I've been really interested in that time period lately so I'm happy to have found it late.

Given how heavily policed that is on this site, I'd hope not.

I need to read up a bit more on Aria guidelines for accessibility, that's new to me.

I just finished this funny and insightful book about giving presentations (and the history of PowerPoint).

This chart rung true for me:
One minute talking
Equals
One hour preparing
