Edinburgh, Scotland (🇺🇸➡️🇳🇱➡️🇫🇷➡️🇬🇧)
I really wanted to like Dept. Q, especially being based in Edinburgh, but it was a slog. I hope they find their feet in Season 2.

There were some good bits and characters, but for a show about paying attention to details, there were so many continuity issues.

Akram was great though.

Just had underfloor insulation added to our 1880's Edinburgh flat.

I went down to clear out some junk from the hoarder tenants here before us, and it was pretty terrifying. Like, super gross, with the added fun of me getting claustrophobic.

Thankfully we cleared out a lot of the junk.

I just finished this funny and insightful book about giving presentations (and the history of PowerPoint).

This chart rung true for me:
One minute talking
Equals
One hour preparing

12 bags of candy, gone in under 2 hours. Lots of great (and bad) jokes shared as kids the "guise" the neighborhood.

Does this image help make sense of the diagram?

As I understand HSL/HSB color spaces better, I'm tempted to make a video explainer.

Doing research into color spaces has been fun. I still haven't decided if I'm an HSL or HSV kind of guy.

That said, I'm really struck by this black & white diagram from a patent filed in 1983, showing how color maps to the HSL space (Hue, Saturation, Lightness).

Learning how to make procedural MacOS Aqua buttons with shaders. 😂

This may become part of a weekend project.

I've been playing around with a shader-based image color analysis tool, which I'd like to share more about soon.

Without explaining anything, does anyone follow what's going on here?

Just picked up a copy of "Understanding Comics" as a present for a young neighbor who's been making a journal in comic format.

Then I noticed the endorsement blurb at the top. 😅 I wonder how long before there's a new printing, and if that stays there.

Steve Jobs convinced the world that nerds were cool, then the nerds went on to ruin the world and economy.

What if we rebooted Syndicate in the far distance of Cyberpunk. 🤔

The full moon made a beautifully eerie silhouette of the rooftop architectural elements in my 1800's Edinburgh neighborhood.

Our team won our lawn bowling match to end off the club's season. We came in third overall, winning me £8.

Maybe this is a set up for them saying they're actually GoBots fans, so they can continue making that awful Apache helicopter joke.

Just about to wrap up a freestyle cables knitting project.

Depending on which side I bind it on it'll become a headband for my wife, or a cute Aran sweater for a snake. 🧶🐍

I've been noticing that window previews for Google Chrome haven't been displaying properly with growing frequency. Does anyone know what might be causing the issue? Bad updates, or is my system slowly dying?

Is it time for a new browser?

This is cool, though I think I want to make a more modern game that's _about_ this time period.

Less of the late '80s neon mall nostalgia, that we have so much of, more like Computer Chronicles style with nerds in tweed suits or the Keaton family home from Family Ties.

Look at this cool dude.

I remember telling the hair stylist to make the wave bigger!

I'm looking forward to Hades 2's release today.
I haven't played in a few months, but I put in 69.4 hours during early access. I'm excited to see how things resolve.

Love watching these "Computer Chronicles" archived videos.
These guys on the right are both named "Keith"; they both work for different companies and are about to show off what their laptops can do.

I'm working on a passion project that has be digging into how to convert color values from RGB to HSB and back again, and this stuff is so cool. Someone on Stack Overflow had a really thoughtful post visualizing and walking through how the equation works.

"Lowest Satisfaction"
"PRICES Guaranteed !"
This one-sheet is from a store I worked at 27 years ago. It was based on the two-page spread that would go out in the front of San Diego's "Computer Edge" magazine.
An early reminder for me of the importance of design.
