First row of beets I planted this spring came up weakly, so when I went to plant more, and all I had was old seed, I sowed very thickly. And they all came up. Now I get to do "progressive thinning": I periodically pull whichever sprouts look most crowded, and stuff the greens into my mouth.

Life is very overwhelming right now. My mom's in the hospital, first ever lambing season is crazy, trying to get things planted, raising a batch of chicks, Master Gardeners training, and more. Too much.
