An explosive wildfire erupted north of Los Angeles on Wednesday as dangerous Santa Ana winds continued to whip up amid tinder-dry conditions that have plagued the region.
Hughes Fire explodes to 8,000 acres, causing evacuations north of L.A.
Officials issued evacuation orders in and around the Castaic Lake area. Evacuation warnings border Santa Clarita, one residential area closest to the fire.
