We lived in TN when they cut TennCare (Tennessee Medicaid).

People died.

People die when you take away their access to healthcare & medicine.

I'm disgusted that no GOP reps were willing to stand up for their constituents.

The reps won't be the ones feeling the consequences.
Every time, EVERY time, I think someone will come to their senses, they don't.

There is no amount of yoga or therapy or escapist reading that will make the current state of the country more palatable to me.

Trying not to give in to the panic.

Literally the most douchebag-bro photo I have EVER seen.
Loyalty trumps experience in this alternate timeline we're living through.

The Guardian talks about Trump's parade in the context of Russian military parades.

Gathering stormclouds can’t wipe smile from Trump’s face as long-held dream of military parade is realised
In scenes that could have been set in Moscow, families queued to sit in helicopters, while tanks and robot dogs paraded Constitution Avenue

4-year-old Bakersfield girl facing deportation could die within days of losing medical care - Los Angeles Times

Don’t ever tell me that Christians support the GOP. There is nothing Christian or Christ-like about this. Just plain old cruelty and callousness:
4-year-old Bakersfield girl facing deportation could die within days of losing medical care
In 2023, a Mexican girl, 4, was allowed U.S. entry for lifesaving medical care. She and her parents, who live in Bakersfield, have been told they must leave.

I saw the video. The article says it's "unclear" who the arresting officers were. It's unclear because THEY'RE NOT WEARING UNIFORMS.
Fascists.
The man told Noticias Telemundo that authorities took his ID from his wallet and told him it was fake before handcuffing him.

Our mechanic closed suddenly. Informed us via email, said they'd send a follow-up email recommending other mechanics.

Nada. 👎

Our hairstylist is pregnant, not due for another two months, & just sent an email with not just recommendations of who to see, but their locations, hours, & specialties. 👍

Our dumbest cat just followed a live toad into our kitchen, and I have So. Many. Questions.

(Toad is now safely outside.)

Do you have trouble waking up in the morning? Is your alarm clock unreliable?

Invest in Small Child.

Small Child never fails to wake before 7, and has no snooze button.

ICE agents are lawless, sociopathic shitbirds. Treat every one you encounter accordingly.
Please highlight this story.

ICE stormed into the wrong house, trashed the place, and made women/girls stand outside in the rain in their underwear. ICE also stole phones, laptops, and cash savings from the family, who moved to OKC two weeks ago.

Seeing a lot of "RFK IS Wrong About Autism" headlines. Well, duh.

Strike the word "austism" and replace it with "everything" and it saves time.

About 30 years ago, my parents' (brilliant) neighbor said that the Internet was more dangerous than TV, because TV got boring, but with the Internet, you could just keep finding new ways to entertain yourself.

Guys, I love all of you, but the answer to RFK, Jr. is not that autistic adults hold jobs, pay taxes, and get laid, it's that everyone deserves to live even if they can't work, pay taxes, or get laid.

Everyone is explaining that they/their partner/their child is not THAT kind of autistic, but also--

None of those things RFK Jr. lists determines the worth of a human being. None.

The ones whose inherent worth and dignity I have trouble recognizing are RFK Jr. and his ilk.
RFK Jr. wants to eradicate autistic people and also has no idea what an autistic person is

Cut up cabbage, broccoli, sausage, counted out frozen pierogis. Was in the kitchen for ages. Oven wouldn't get hot enough to cook the broccoli or cabbage. :( Repair person coming out Friday.

Today I bought compression socks for flying. Tonight I put them on my poor swollen feet (no reason for them to be swollen, just my normal) and Oh. My. God. I should have done this months ago!

(It's not my blood pressure or anything life-threatening. Just my hypermobile body being wacky.)
