A good thing about the power cut was I was up early enough to be able to go to the chemists first thing. So I also got to see the cable hole. I guess that café will not be open today as it now has no pavement in front of it. I could not take a photo of that, so here is a windy High Road pavement.

On a whim I added one of the USB "old fashioned LED filament light bulbs" to an order of more exciting things, and it arrived last week. And I am so glad I did as it illuminates do perfectly compared to a torch.

I sometimes play the Geoguessr Sweden map for free, taking as long as it takes to keep a perfect score because exploring is fun, but today I messed up by one unnamed way on the Mittuniversitet campus and lost a point. Also I broke a tooth eating falafel so that is gone too. Not the best of days.

A while ago I bought a simple and cheap oscilloscope I had never used because it was cheap and may be useful one day. And for fun I built a simple and wave generator from a kit I had never turned on. So time to switch projects temporarily and learn how to use the scope to probe for signals.

With the service manual I located all the capacitors on the output side, but then thought "what if the there is no thing going to the amp?"

YouTube had not helped yet, and I got this far working out a diagram when I had to look up what some of the components are, which I think are just old fashioned inducters. Instead I discovered there is a whole community of people who mod old keyboards, so I could just download the service manual.

Tesco is advertising it being 30 years of its Clubcard without mentioning that an extortionist forced its introduction and was entrapped by it, before another attempt five years later, in what Wikipedia calls "incidents".

In January 1995, Frank Riolfo, a former lance-corporal of the Royal Army Medical Corps, extorted Tesco, forcing the introduction of the previously trialled discount card. After first contaminating food with (what turned out to be fake[4]) HIV-infected blood in a store in Kettering, Riolfo demanded payment via Tesco's new loyalty card system.
He specified that the cards were to contain magnetic strips, allowing them to function secretly as ATM cash withdrawal cards. Coded copies of the PIN code were published under his instruction in national newspapers. Clubcard was subsequently launched nationally with a Direct Marketing campaign by Evans Hunt Scott, Terry Hunt's advertising agency.
Customers, including Riolfo's wife, signed up to the scheme and collected a card. Riolfo and his wife then toured the country withdrawing a total of £7,500 cash on 73 occasions until they were eventually caught on 22 April 1995. Frank Riolfo pleaded guilty and was jailed for six years, after appeal. The loyalty card scheme was not discontinued, with Tesco already planning to roll out the trial before the incident.
In the end of 2000, Robert Edward Dyer made a similar attempt at extortion involving Clubcards with a magnetic strip for ATM withdrawals. I thought the church would be positioned today as they laid down tracks amongst the foundations, but the church will stop where it is having successfully completed its cross-city journey.

I like that LKAB (the state owned mining company responsible for the church move) is calling it Den stora kyrkvandringen [The great church migration] after älgvandringen (the one with the elk and the river) while SVT is boringly calling it Den stora kyrkflytten [The great church relocation].
