I'm sort of frightened to ask what you've used it for??

I think they have wills, which I hope will make sorting the estate easier. But in terms of their wishes before then, I have no idea what they'd want if we had to make financial/health decisions for them. At least it's just mum & dad, I can't imagine having to do this twice over!

That is very very practical and helpful, if difficult to talk about at the time. Fuck knows what me and my sister will do, the whole plan seems to be based largely on vibes and the belief that not talking about something means it won't happen.

It's very tricky. My parents made me and my sister Power of Attorney several years ago but trying to get a sense of ANY of their wishes is like getting blood from a stone because they don't want to talk about it. So that's nice 😳

Keeping everything crossed. I'm wondering if there might be someone in your neighborhood that could do it, may be worth posting on a local Facebook group or similar? Sometimes people around here are willing to help out with this sort of thing for not much money.

Is it possible for it to be fixed without the insurance for less than $500? Or do you have to claim on insurance for things over there (we don't). I'm so sorry this has happened to you 😥

From a behaviourist perspective, possibly not the right ones
