I love ferrets, they're amazing!
Pretty sure they're just here for exercise, Corbyn. Stop fear-mongering about war!

Why would anyone stand with him? He tried snubbing corruption agencies because they were investigating his friends - he doesn't get a pass for that just because he's president of the nation.

Infighting, incompetence (they won the local elections basically, but already lost so many Councillors to scandals), maybe even the recent Russian bribe case.

Also, they used up their political momentum too soon, I suppose. The Greens are the new shining star in UK politics, not Reform lol.

I think the problem isn't "the far-right has the anti-communist rhetoric all for themselves", it's "the far-right has EVERY rhetoric all for themselves", because liberals have no backbone nowadays. They rely on institutionalism way too much, even as those very same institutions collapse/fail them.
November 29, 2025 at 1:38 PM
I feel like you're over-emphesizing the importance of being "anti-communist" - liberals should just be anti-dictatorial/anti-tyrannical in general, and they seem to have given up on this, too. How many liberals have eventually just started cooperating with the far-right in recent years?

Ukraine IS corrupt - ignoring blatant corruption by those in power because they're opposed to the Russian assholes is not a good thing, dude. Poroshenko was also anti-Russian and the president once, but he doesn't get a pass for corruption either. No one should.
November 29, 2025 at 12:29 PM
"Was found to have russian spies" was only a line the people implicated in the recent corruption scandal have used in order to justify snubbing anti-corruption agencies, so that they wouldn't investigate them.

It's why the public protested so hard.

Fucking finally.
November 29, 2025 at 12:23 PM
Oh I understand perfectly, which is why I think your should read ukrianian news articles about corruption instead of just reading my Tweet. I'm not all-knowing, but from what I do know, I thin kthat Yermak/Zelenskyy are rightfully being investigated for corruption. The panama papers don't help lol.

Maybe I'm a bit pedantic, but if the only thing that differenciates two ideologies are flag colours and thebslogans they use, then either one of those ideologies is just a fake, or both of them are the same, to a degree where there's no real benefit on stickling to details like Chomsky/Kraut does.
November 28, 2025 at 10:40 AM
I don't think they're that different ideologically, as the only real difference is the rhetoric they use. A fascist "rehabilitation work camp" is the same as a Stalinist gulag, the only difference is vibes and justifications.

Different means (in terms of rhetoric), same ends - totalitsrian regime.
November 28, 2025 at 10:38 AM
And it's really funny, too. Especially since you can always tell when this is the case - go to Hakim's video about Zohran winning ant just bask in all the cringe "Well he's not a REAL communist, like we are!" comments from "communists" who have done nothing besides complain on the internet 24/7.
November 28, 2025 at 8:55 AM
Actually that's an incredibly common phenomena, where the "REAL" communists are people who are too socially anxious to go outside and talk to people constsntly belittle social democrats/democrstic sociakists like Zohran Mamdani for not being a "TRUE" communist.
November 28, 2025 at 8:52 AM
I think the difference is really not important, both of them sucked, the Nazis/Fascists just burned out faster than the Soviets did.
November 28, 2025 at 8:50 AM
It's real lol. Both Zelenskyy and Yermak (and all of their friends) have been laying root their corrupt shit ever since they got into office. The fact that they tried to snub NABU/SAPO before the scandal hit is somewhat proof they knew what was happening.
November 28, 2025 at 8:39 AM
"I hope he's not involved" uhhh hate to break it to you, bit if you've followed Ukrainian politics since 2022 deeper than the surface level "war is happening" stuff, it'd have become quite clear Zelenskyy is almost certainly corrupt lol.
November 28, 2025 at 8:37 AM
Honestly I don't think there was going to be a better time for this. Zelenskyy had a chance to rip the band-aid off 2 weeks ago, ehen the scandal first hit.

Also pretty sure the Americans planned on pushing the "peace" deal in a time of weakness, so waiting would just delay the inevitable.
