as a matter of fact i made one for one of my partners! they struggle with the blank page effect a lot and would really like to branch out from 'character in white void' so this might be nice maybe!

+ some sample palettes and random fun creature references outside the page area to get brain going
similar setup from before! this time instead of various paper colors its pale holographic and really dark pages alternating this one has colors palettes and pictures of fun invertebrates/fish/mushrooms for extra visual reference as their setting takes a lot of inspiration from things in our world that fully exist but look alien and strange to a human eye and living organisms with iridescent and bioluminescent qualities

More style testing..
A test page for the upcoming comic Perception Sorcery. a shadowed silhouette of a long-haired teenager is in the very foreground of the page, over even the panel borders. They are depicted with somewhat ethereal looking purple lineart but otherwise filled in with stark #000000 black like the panel borders. Within the panels, using at darkest a deep maroon shade even for linework, there are shots of - A girl in headphones on a background of yellow flowers smiling wide with a toothy grin, a mass of monstrous dog heads in red on a red background snarling and searching, a halfway out of frame gloved hand holding a star in its fingers. The last panel cuts off making an impression of movement, of thoughts or memories scrolling by. The backgrounds have a painted texture, while the characters are cel-shaded, with a slight shadow as if really cels on top of a background. Characters may be recognized as, by those following the comic development, respectively, Ness, Nikole, The Hunt, and the hand as belonging to the intentionally unnamed dragon's human form.

The throne much like the character is covered in spikes and is propped up by four lion paws complete with claws. The hair is scraggly and coarse, there are black scales dotting the skin at the character's sides, shoulders, and face. The vines in the background and close foreground are dark, spiky, and tentacle-like.

backgrounds are good for establishing a vibe, nothing out there quite as good as backgrounds for vibes
the same artwork now with basic ambient light gradient lit from below and sharp brambles framing the piece, making the piece more moody and hostile
