#Thanksgiving is another American holiday that I love. TBH, I love any holiday that can give me a day off from work & off the LA freeway. But I love Thanksgiving as it's very similar in essence to my favorite Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival & Winter Arrival Celebration (冬至).

I'd lived in a lot of places in #LA, but I still haven't found a place I like. But at least my landlord of my new $$$ non-smoking apt building is now taking action by sending emails to warn about smoking violation, v.s. in my former older apt, the landlord did nothing.

Amazing how none of Trump's EOs gets the #deodorants in the #supermarket here in #LA unlocked... They're still locked up & there is no "button" anywhere to call a store employee to open it....Oh, well, I'll just buy from Amazon instead...

This is one of the breakfast menus from "Joy of Cooking" 1964....I bought the book from a garage sale yesterday. Eating Brains in America??? My grandparents in Hong Kong eat them, not me...🤮But I would love to serve them to my friends during Halloween to see their reaction....

I dreamed of a garden, but life gave me 2 blooms. These are what I could cut from the couple planters that I have in my small apt. balcony. I envy those who showed me they could just go out to their gardens, cut lots of random #flowers & make a grand floral arrangement.

#Lunch today: Salt & Pepper Pork Chop lunch special with green tea. $16.58+10.25%Tax +Tips. So delicious! Authentic taste & crispiness, melt into my mouth pork chop. The green tea has the great Taiwanese aromatic tea flavor I love. Despite the flaws of LA, this is the good.

#Lunch today: 1 entree +1 side + Pineapple Pomegranate Juice US13+10.25% sales tax. I forgot how I didn't like American Chinese food @ food courts. Slimy sauce...bitter aftertaste due to bitter oil used to stir fry the food. I trashed it after a few bites.

While I appreciate a holiday that gives me a day off from work, I do know that today is really a day to honor those who made the selfless sacrifice just so we can celebrate all holidays. It's a day to honor selfless sacrifice, courage & loyalty. God bless their souls & families.

I almost got hit by an electric scooter speeding on the pedestrian pavement. Why are E-bikes & e-scooters now racing on the pedestrian pavements here in California? Is it even legal? This is one of the most annoying experiences I have here in the USA.

For the last 2 evenings, I went to a #coffee shop with a #book & read while eating a piece of chocolate #cake & zipping latte (US$11.45) after I worked out @ the gym. I finished reading this poignant novel after 2 evenings. I haven't read @ this speed since I left Hong Kong.❤️it.
