Continuing to discover parallels and make connections between Stoicism and the beliefs of Quaker Friends. It’s fascinating.

Unpopular opinion: that suit was bad ass, part of a long tradition of wonderfully, gaudy suits. Manuels and Nudies have surely been in the White House before. It’s just a bummer about Kid Rock, is all.

Storms are about to get very bad in Arkansas. I am as prepared as I can be. But the only way I got there was to do it a little at a time.

Consider spending effort, mental energy, or money on some bit of preparedness for you or a friend every time you say “We got lucky this time.”

Merton & Batman discuss war on a '78 Camaro atop Mt. Magazine, Logan Cnty, Arkansas.

"For the Church is Christ Himself, present in the world. He has redeemed, present in mystery, in poverty, in ways that are a scandal to human wisdom and to the ruthless leaders of men."

HIGHLY recommend. Incredible book. A great tool for crystallizing perspectives, refining logic, and gathering ideas. It is challenging & invigorating. It hurts a bit, too. The mansplaining chapter is a fun & cutting chapter. The last chapter is a perfect crescendo of reason and action.

I was just reminded that on this date in 1997, Americana by Starflyer 59 was released. I bought it not too long after and specifically remember listening to it in the parking lot before class at Art Center College of Design.

I spilled my coffee getting out of the car.

I absolutely love to read and I think I’ve finally found a better way to keep my growing to-read list organized. Who else is using StoryGraph?

@thestorygraph.com is a non-Bezos (so far as I know) enriching, trimmed-down but still robust alternative to Goodreads.

I would like to know what relevant county commissioners, mayors, and other elected officials are going to do to ensure citizens have the resources these offices have been providing.

It's racism. It's the whitest whiteness.
It's the ORIGINAL DEI.

Nara is just ONE EXAMPLE of how Trump's nebulous definition of DEI has been weaponized as an anti-Black, pro-white affirmative action.

I made a whole list.
An Incomplete List of Things Donald Trump Considers to be 'DEI'
According to the MAGA resegregationists in the Trump administration, anything Black is now considered "DEI."

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:
