Didn't get much done the last weeks, there are no updates on my thesis - so I haven't been very productive...
today I washed the sand of my two oldies (3 kg) & filtered the eggs... look how many there are...I dread to think how many I'll get from the 15 kg dried sand from my former Triops...🤯😊

Last night, the last of my little oldies died.
They were the reason I had to get up, despite all the gloomy thoughts & depression that constantly strain me.
I feel really down, but I think that's it for a while with the little crustaceans.

Had to separate my 2 Mongolian Triops today as the big one kept attacking the little one – to console him, he got a big melon chunk for himself.
(before anyone complains, this was only a temporary measure until I had prepared the replacement tank – none of my Triops has to live on such small space)

Since someone pointed out to me that if you look onto the 3 eyes of my Triops they look like a 😯-face I can't unsee it.😄
Especially with my new Mongolian Triops as their third eye is just as black as the other two.

After I had nursed Benny up so well again, he unfortunately died yesterday due to a failed moult.
I'll miss the bright little snout that always wiggled curiously through the tank,redecorated the algae balls & responded so euphorically to peppers.He really brightened up the short time he was there.🖤

This little, agile guy belongs to the ceratopogonids or biting midges & has brightened up my work a bit today...
I have to say I much prefer them at this stage.😊

Wondering if there is a term for when you search for something & get distracted by individual details so that you end up with something completely different? I was looking at papers on formation of hyaline cells in Sphagnum mosses... did you know that there is an Olsenbande board game? 😄🖤

Bit frustrated that the first Bunker I have to find seems to be exclusively Cougar territory but at least in the cannery was some friendlier company. (btw this must be my 2nd favourite bug(?)) -

#TheLongDark - This may be a daft question, but now that I've gradually dragged everything into my cabin at Timberwolf Mountain & it was the 2nd Aurora, none of the lights are working yet - is it purely a decorative aspect & I've dragged lights for nothing or do I need to activate them somehow?

#TheLongDark - This may be a daft question, but now that I've gradually dragged everything into my cabin at Timberwolf Mountain & it was the 2nd Aurora, none of the lights are working yet - is it purely a decorative aspect & I've dragged lights for nothing or do I need to activate them somehow?
I love the little musician - one can only feel sorry for the little guy. Everyone chases him away, there's no place for him anywhere.
Glad I was kind of prepared (thanks to a spoiler) when he showed up at my hideout & didn't kill him accidentally. #Darkwood
