I woke up feeling depressed today, worrying about what this year might bring, but then I realized true hopelessness means nothing can be done—and that’s not the case here. The Christmas story calls us to embody empathy, hospitality, and a deep respect for human dignity. It echoes the grace shown to a family in need that sacred night, urging us to extend love and generosity to others, especially in a world facing challenges of immigration, inequality, and justice.

2 doves showed up outside our house this evening. When we went to leave, they didn’t fly away. They’re still here when we got back & it’s 23°F (-5°C) tonight. We gave them bird seed, water, & a box for warmth. They don’t seem wild since they’re not afraid. Anyone know what we should do? #help
