A lot of my Hosta are starting to look tired after the summer growth spurt, not helped by insects/snails etc. having the munchies on a few... Sting is looking very well, newly planted this year.

Hope you are giving any plants newly planted or in pots a good soak every 2 or 3 days in this heat and breeze.... I've had to move some Hosta in shadier spots but most are doing fine. The main problem is them being nibbled, and it's not slugs! This is Tea at Bettys.

Hosta Kiwi Full Monty in its new home; it's been in a pot for 6-7 years. I wasn't going to plant it in the garden as we have another one, but have discovered a lot of Hosta don't like the winter in Southern Scotland. It replaces Lakeside Fancy Pants... #hosta #gardening #ukgardening

Hosta "Bridal Falls" will, eventually, be the largest Hosta in my garden. In this picture she is about 3'/1m tall and around 5'/1.5m across. The biggest leaf is easily a foot, (30cm), long. Well pleased with progress in 2 years since planting.

H. "Bobcat" is the furthest along of my ground planted Hosta as of yesterday. This has been a very successful plant in our new garden; divided twice, one piece went to family, another is in a pot in our garden. For more info, try the BHHS, hostahem.org.uk

H. "Appletini" is winning the race in my garden to be the first to be fully open; a major success story for me as it almost died a couple of winters ago; it's now kept in a pot and goes in a unheated greenhouse for the winter, (with lots other stuff).

20 years ago at Northampton Raceway, a good day 😎 If you've never seen small oval racing, go to your local track, much more visceral than on the TV, and you can see all the action - doesn't mean you won't miss some though!

Blinking stones photobombed my Red Deer Picture, did move out of the way for a couple of other photos so OK.... 😊

And now the "native", purple/pink one 😁.

Tricyrtis formosana - discovered not native, just naturalised This one came free with a house purchase, wonderful surprise our first spring here 😀.

Not the most impressive stone circle, but love the dumpy stones and the location is wonderful. Torhouse stone circle, (and couple nearby other stones) in SW Scotland.

Went out to photograph the Daffodils in my garden, but got most excited by the first Toad Lily (Tricyrtis, probabaly formosana alba) this year - we planted several Tricyrtis and have some found their own way here, this being one!

Wife & I just returned from a tour of the Scottish borders Snowdrop gardens, had every weather possible!

Snowdrop season has arrived, 2 weeks earlier than last year in our garden 😁 #garden #gardening

Not my best piccy, but I rather like it; Narcissus are rightly celebrated in the UK spring, but one of my favourites is Fritillaria meleagris, the Fritillaries are coming soon too!

This might be controversial, but I much prefer Stirling Castle to Edinbrough's. Smaller but less crowded, amazing Great Hall and the history is there in the walls.....

So the bulbs sticking their noses out are safe for now....

If you are in Southern Scotland anytime, I highly recommend visiting Falkirk, the Wheel and the Kelpies are great. We went to the Kelpies in bad weather (don't just drive past on the motorway) but it sort of added to them, especially when the sun broke through for a few minutes.

This Iris came free with our new home a few years ago - we didn't realise it was there and I had bought some Iris for the new garden. This is still the best flowering one.
