Incredible thermal inversion over Edinburgh from the pentlands this morning. Taken from Carnethy hill looking north-east, you can see Turnhouse, Castlelaw, Allermuir and Caerketton hills. What you can't see is any of the city of Edinburgh!

Agnes Arber was a British plant morphologist and one of the first women botanists recognized by the Royal Society. She significantly contributed to the study of monocot plants and comparative plant anatomy. Her work helped shape modern botanical taxonomy and plant developmental biology.
