I bought this kit RIGHT before the new #SoulblightGravelords book came out...

I'm not gonna waste it. Bought a 160mm base, and going to build it up so the ZD can be a Draconith.

...and I ran out of super glue, so...to the store I go!

I've had this mini built, and looking at me on my desk for ages now. For some reason, tonight was the night to make a start. What a fancy devil.

Now, back in 1987 (way before AoS) Games Workshop took its fantasy setting and adapted it for science fiction. That was Warhammer 40,000. It’s not “fantasy in the future,” the worlds have a lot of overlaps and similarities but they’re generally considered seperate product and lore lines.

The Empire in Warhammer Fantasy is not actually the Empire of Man - even if people call it that.

It has dwarf, halfling, elf citizens. Their closest allies are dwarfs. In older fiction, their biggest issue with vampires was not that they were vampires and more that Von Karsteins were secessionists

I really should not be spending so much time learning how dnd works to make a character that will never be used but as a fan of fantasy and fantasy-adjacent fiction it's probably good to know how one of the most popular "rpg" frameworks operates (+ foundational fantasy lore)

Writing is hard. Even with a well established writing schedule.
Example: this morning I stared at my screen for 45 minutes.
I had plenty of ideas and words, it was the motivation that somehow disappeared.

I should probably mention that release week (and a bit beyond) I'm going to be driving up and down the coast and stopping at numerous bookstores along the way. Please allow me a few moments of your time to tell you where I'm going to be...
Forgive me for the book shillering but today we're exactly *three weeks* out from GOD'S JUNK DRAWER. Preorder a copy now from your favorite local bookstore! Preorder two copies, just to be safe! Take advantage of that cool preorder offer I mentioned in the newsletter last week!
