Thanks for sharing. I’ve subscribed and read the article. Very interesting and well articulated. I think there is also the question about what is the role of the programme in society/the tv schedules today. Plus what do we want the character of the Doctor to be in an ever more complex world.

Yes, but far the best episode of this era and for a very long time. This incarnation was at his most Doctor-like too, which was very pleasing as up until now I have found it very difficult to relate to him.

Yes, I agree. I just struggle to like this incarnation of the Doctor. I’m not sure why, and I don’t wish to be negative, but I can’t feel the usual magic.

Spot on review, as always. I love this novel and its horror aspects. I found it very disturbing as a child; and now in many ways. A great example of what was possible with the range. Thanks for doing these reviews. Always brilliant and insightful
