It’s probably not a big deal, but the way TMap default values for Gameplay Tags are organized in the new Unreal version’s Data Assets, compared to the old one, just gives me peace of mind 😅

Directional Gravity is now part of Unreal’s Character Movement Component.
Stick to walls, walk on ceilings, or build spherical worlds...no plugins or complex setups needed.

One of Unreal Engine’s hidden gems is the Gameplay Message Subsystem
Instead of wiring systems with casts or references, it lets you broadcast intent via Gameplay Tags so listeners react freely
It works like a radio: one signal, many listeners
No dependencies. No chaos

💡 Did you know? You can use shortcuts in the Blueprint Editor to quickly place the most commonly used nodes in #UnrealEngine

🎮 Unfinished projects also matter
In game development, many people tend to hide their failures or abandoned projects...especially when they set out to make their own GTA or Dark Souls and later realize the challenge is beyond their current skills. At first, it may feel negative or even embarrassing

Optimization isn't just the engine's job...Unreal or others aren't magic bullets. It's on the team to pick the right engine, factoring in project needs, time, budget, and expertise. Good optimization reflects a studio's discipline and planning. #GameDev #Optimization #UnrealEngine

What is feature creep? Well, this is something I see almost everyday...It’s one of the most common threats to game dev projects.

Unreal vs Unity vs Godot, I keep seeing these comparisons more often than I'd like, but no engine will finish your game. Stop using the engine limitations, learning curves or missing features as an excuse for poor development choices

As a @dcoffical.bsky.social fan, I'm so glad that so many people are going to see #Superman and are excited about the movie. I've already seen it twice, and I think I'll go for a third time! #Krypto is a rockstar!!

In case you don't know...In UE 5.6, you can now right-click a pure function in a Blueprint and toggle execution pins on or off

🎮 Failing is normal in game dev:
big ideas hard to implement, underestimated time, gaps in experience...It is a common path for most of us. An unfinished project does not mean wasted time
What matters is learning from it, not stopping because of it

Unreal Engine's Actor Palette plugin improves level design workflows by letting you open a separate map with commonly used assets. You can drag actors straight into your active level without opening the Content Browser every time

One of the most common pieces of advice for new game developers is: “Start small.” But that raises a key question: What does “small” really mean? How do you know if your idea fits?

If you think Lumen, Megalights, and Nanite replace everything that came before then you're missing the point. They are powerful, but not mandatory and they don't make previous workflows obsolete

Finding where Notifies are used across animations has always been a bit of a headache in #UnrealEngine especially before version 5.3. There's now a native way to search for them!
Not just Notifies, but also Curves and Sync Markers

Saying that programming knowledge is a mandatory requirement to start in gamedev is a rigid stance that can create unnecessary barriers and kill the motivation of those who are just beginning.

Saying only programmers are game devs is like saying only people with hammers are architects. Game development is a team effort. Artists, writers, sound designers, QA, if your work brings a game to life, you’re a game dev.

🎮 "If it’s not fun, remove it."
Scott Rogers' Theory of Un-Fun is a golden rule for game designers.
Start with fun, cut the rest, what remains is what players love.
