AI as a shortcut disrupts and damages learning processes.

Failure to master fundamental skills & knowledge causes cumulative debt; when it comes due, it will likely be all at once.

They must consider the ethics & legality of uploading text. In a job, a mistake could result in them being fired.

I think the problem will be shifted to the staff. Those who can get PR or shift onto another visa will. The rest will leave. US academia will be less diverse. The bigger question in my mind is as these folks displace out, how will that impact academia in the rest of the English-speaking world?
