But Father Reason says,
No need to announce the future!
This now is it. This.
Your deepest need and desire
is satisfied by the moment's energy
here in your hand.

Pale sunlight,
pale the wall.

Love moves away.
The light changes.

I need more grace
than I thought.

I've waited for this bougainville to bloom for years. This year, she is in bloom. It's her way of saying, it takes time — to emerge, to show your beauty, and for you to become who you are. She finds her way into my conversations easily, as if she is a friend, and I love that this is my life.

A fluorescent blue butterfly fluttering away, a couple of sparrows appearing in the neighbourhood, new leaves filling up tree branches everywhere, the dance of the sun and moon every day, a pair of bulbuls calling on visitors to come greet them, and the season's first jasmine.

For a much-needed moment of calm and solitude, engulfed by trees, insects, bird sounds, and the wind, to bring myself back to a steady state.

I got these peppers from a teacher/friend. I just mentioned it to her the other day, how much I loved these peppers. She said, she will bring them for me.

A week has passed since that conversation.

Evening in the city. My city is a palimpsest of several cities, each one laid on top of another long gone. But the sky has remained the same, and I see the same sky that the ancestors of the city saw. Looking up, in this moment, I am an extension, a portal through time and memory.

Today, I am a little excited and overwhelmed — I got my first piece of musical instrument. I started my musical journey to support the long journey of individuation and navigate the fear of failure that at times is heavy and unforgiving. Today, this moment is a moment of celebration and gratitude.
