An empty seat for #Georgia ... Absolute shame and incredibly dangerous that we have no functioning, trustworthy & legitimate government when the turbulent changes take place all around us.

Mzia Amaglobeli has ended her hunger strike after 37 days and hundreds of letters urging her to stop. I’m happy and relieved. This is the only rational and right decision in this situation. The regime doesn’t care about her health or well-being, and we need people like her to remain safe and strong.

80th day of protests and thousands of people in the streets of #Tbilisi.

Meanwhile, President Zourabichvili continues her successful visit to Munich Security Conference.

"No to Russian Dictatorship!" On day 80 of continuous #GeorgiaProtests, citizens gather at Europe Square, marching to Parliament via Rustaveli Ave.

The demands remain unchanged: the release of those arrested during the rallies and the announcement of new parliamentary elections.

"The rushed adoption of amendments to the Code on Administrative Offences, Criminal Code and the Law on Assemblies and Manifestations will have far-reaching effects on Georgian society. They will significantly undermine the rights to freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, and media freedom."

Here you see the white bus into which some of the arrested were taken -- they're trying to keep the door mostly closed but if you look closely you can see the policeman punching.

Wanton GD brutality. #Tbilisi #Georgia

Strong statement by @kajakallas.bsky.social but so little action by the #EU

Such a shame that #EU's foreign policy is held hostage by 2 authoritarians.

🇬🇪🇪🇺
The brutal crackdown on peaceful protesters, journalists and politicians tonight in Tbilisi is unacceptable.

Georgia falls short of any expectation from a candidate country.

The EU stands with the people of Georgia in their fight for freedom and democracy.

#Czechia sanctioned #MIA representatives for brutal repressions.

Georgian people need the support of our friends in the #EU.

Hopefully, more countries will join the group of #EU member states that take measures against #GD.

Georgia is perhaps one of the most pro-USA society in our region.
The Georgian people are deeply grateful for our strong friendship and steady partnership with the United States. 🇬🇪🇺🇸 Your support has been a cornerstone of our journey, and we’re proud to stand with America on our shared path toward freedom and democracy.

During the march against the police regime, officers claimed covering faces was an administrative offense and demanded masks be removed. Protesters refused to comply, after which police arrested several protesters by force.

Turns out, #Georgia will not be represented at the World Economic Forum or the Munich Security Conference.

Georgian Dream is unable to conduct foreign policy.

This must be the most internationally shameful "government" Georgia ever had.

Meanwhile, President Salome Zourabichvili has been invited to inauguration by Congressman Joe Wilson 🇬🇪🇺🇲😎
🤡 Hungary’s government spokesman seems nervous over reports that Giorgia Meloni, Nigel Farage, or Geert Wilders may all attend Trump’s inauguration, while Viktor Orbán—who spent tons of public funds on PR to portray himself as Trump’s top European ally—is notably absent from the guest list. Ouch.
