"Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts." ~Daniel Patrick Moynihan
I think Kelly has a 14-year-old daughter. I wonder what she thinks about her mom's statements?

As was inevitable. Show me *any* large corporation (not just big tech) and I will show you an organization that will always put profits over patriotism. Anyone who denies this is deluding themselves.

It's stuff like this that makes it so enraging that we are continually told we must be "respectful" to Trump supporters. The people that voted for Trump did so knowing he posts this stuff, and it wasn't a sufficient deal-breaker for them. Don't tell me these are "good people," because they are not.

This is spot-on. Many people think ordinary people hate the rich and powerful. It's probably more accurate to say that ordinary people envy rich and powerful people. They don't hate them as much as they want to be them.

So on-brand for a predominantly White and well-heeled suburban school district to have a women in their Hall of Fame who thinks it is perfectly fine for White kids to wear blackface at Halloween and that it's not racist at all.

Great! Looking forward to the announcement and best of luck with it - I'll be a paying customer when the next one comes out!

Walter Hill rules, especially his earlier films: Hard Times (1975), The Driver (1978), The Warriors (1979), The Long Riders (1980), Southern Comfort (1981), 48 Hours (1982), and Streets of Fire (1984). All great action movies and a worthy successor to Ford and Peckinpah.

I read a great interview Mills conducted with The Arkham Digest in 2013, in which he talked about his love for Lovecraft, Aickman, M.R. James, LeFanu, etc. So rare to find people who read deeply in the field. I'd pay money to read a non-fiction piece by him on great horror/ghost story writers.

Very cool - thanks for the picture! I really liked how the novel tied into some of your previous short stories, like "October Film Haunt: Under the House" and The Pine Arch Collection." Looking forward to your next book, whenever it comes out!

Thank you for saying this. The media never wants to seem to point these things out, I guess because they fear alienating their audience. But it's true. People want to live well beyond their means and then complain that prices are too high and that they can't afford everything they "need" (i.e, want)

Until we get smarter voters, rich people will continue to look at ordinary people as clueless sheep and treat them accordingly. The wealthy look down at ordinary people because they think they are better and smarter than them. And it's hard to argue they're wrong when 77 million voted for Trump.

LOL. Yes, but remember that Norah O'Donnell now works for Bari Weiss, which means Norah is essentially working at FOX Lite.

I just finished reading The October Film Haunt this morning and really enjoyed it; one of the best horror novels I've ever read. I also liked that much of the book takes place in Hinesburg, VT (home of that great writer, Daniel Mills) and makes reference to the "Mills farmhouse." Nice!

It's also Trump supporters. I am so sick of the media coddling these people. They are un-American, and that includes those who support Trump and serve in the military. Un-American to their core and they should be held in contempt.

It's been several years since I read it, but I recall it being excellent. My dad went to Europe shortly after D-Day and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He rarely talked about it, but kept in touch with his army buddies at annual reunions his whole life. He was a good father and a good man.
November 11, 2025 at 1:37 PM
Spot-on. I remember my dad (a WWII vet) saying something similar. Thomas Childers wrote a great book about this, called SOLDIER FROM THE WAR RETURNING: THE GREATEST GENERATION'S TROUBLED HOMECOMING FROM WORLD WAR II. It's the darker side of more celebratory books like those from Brokaw and Ambrose.
November 11, 2025 at 4:20 AM
LOL. Such people are not remotely interested in books for reading; they are nothing more than decoration for them. Love your podcast, by the way!
November 10, 2025 at 9:22 PM
This is excellent, but misses one major point: Most media are terrified of appearing "biased," especially by the right, and if they are perceived as being "overly critical" of Trump they fear they will pay a reputational (and monetary) price for it.

Two are from New Hampshire and one from Maine, the reddest of the northeast states. And except for Fetterman, all of them are old white people past retirement age. Time for all of them to go away.

Gutless cowards.
November 10, 2025 at 4:12 AM
A smart Democrat will call for Schumer to step down and do either tonight or tomorrow morning. Rip Schumer to shreds, say he is too old to leave, and watch that person's approval numbers go through the roof.
November 10, 2025 at 1:50 AM
They should! When a party asks to be slapped in the face, like the Democrats did, you can't blame the opposition party for slapping them. Johnson must feel elated. He can rightfully claim victory and show that the Democrats are losers. Which they are.
November 10, 2025 at 1:48 AM
I'm not sure anyone in the Democratic party is hated more than Chuck Schumer. A gutless fool and an old man who needs to retire yesterday.
November 10, 2025 at 1:46 AM
I'm a Democrat, but this "deal" only reinforces what I've known for years - Republicans are tougher. A lot tougher.
November 10, 2025 at 1:44 AM
You caved and everyone knows it. You didn't get anything. What was the point?
