Registering my prediction: over the next 5 years, Tesla sales will continue to decline, and the Optimus robots will be a Cybertruck-scale nonstarter.

BUT.

The company will be a world-leading innovator in shady market manipulation and fraudulent accounting techniques. He’ll hit his fake targets.
JUST IN: Tesla shareholders officially green light a pay package for Elon Musk that could make him the world's first trillionaire.

Spare a thought for centrist dem consultants this morning.

They just learned their ideal candidate for the Democratic 2028 presidential ticket has passed away.

insane that people are getting in trouble for just quoting Charlie Kirk point blank. many of these people are not even expressing support for what happened to him, just quoting him & questioning double standards in how we respond to violence. we live in a far-right culture

The consensus around here is, more or less, that the United States is currently a consolidating authoritarian regime controlled by a mix of reactionary populists and fascists.

Conditional on somebody being a more senior scholar active in replication initiatives, they are less likely to be known for their own highly visible scientific achievements.

In other news, conditioning on the outcome reliably makes it very hard to understand how the world works.
It can be so frustrating to read STS research. Here are Bartscherer and Reinhart osf.io/rbyt6_v1/ Look at their flawed logic: Replication is *used as a career strategy*. The evidence? People were not known for earlier research. The clear confound? ECR’s drove the replication movement! 1/x

Your confidence is making it harder for the rest of us. It may be what your audience wants to hear, but that doesn’t make it true.
