Only a few chapters in but so far the entire story has been aristocrats cheating on each other and complaining about life in Paris. Hemingway's writing style is very distinct, feels like I'm reading a movie script at times. Looking forward to see where the plot goes.

If you can stomach the subject I recommend it. It's not as bad as you might expect, though it also doesn't downplay the situation. I will say it's very tastefully written, with almost no swears and no graphic descriptions of what Humbert did to Lolita, but it's understandably not for everyone.

I've finished the book. It wasn't what I expected - it was much better. I cannot praise enough Nabakov's prose and how interesting Humbert is as a narrator.
I found myself constantly revolving between sympathy and revulsion for the man as the story progressed, though mostly I felt sorry for Lolita.
