Played a OneShot of Electric Bastionland about a month ago and enjoyed it a lot!

Gradient Descent is so high on my list as well. I just love reading through it. Heart I‘ve been trying to run/play for over a year now with little success.

The struggle is real.

I was just stuck in a „oh this is probably a challenge“ mindset of my trad game background and it‘s great to go into feedback and learn something new.

In mothership I project the consequences of an action to them - Okay sure you can do that, but it‘ll put you up for xyz

In DCC we have a talk beforehand about the built-in lethality and what it expects from the players - and I had players go into character death almost gleefully.

If I run, say, Mothership or Delta Green or OSR with my players I‘ve told them beforehand what the experience and the setting contains - and I need them to be up for that and enjoy that. Lethality for example is a part of those games. But I do believe lethality != adversity by the gm.

It‘s also a big tell on a DM that has never asked themselves the question of when to ask for a roll and when not.
