The President of the United States just called for my arrest and execution.

In these moments, fear is contagious, but so is courage:

The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

I will not back down.

Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected representatives checking his power.

What else is left on the path to full-blown authoritarianism?

Hey Democratic Senators, the 2010s called and they want their messaging back. This isn't Paul Ryan or John Boehner anymore.
Donald Trump has said it again and again and again. It’s the President’s job to avert a shutdown.

He needs to get us out of this preventable mess he created.

Over the weekend, we wrote about how dozens of judges have found ICE's new detention policy — seeking to lock up millions of people facing deportation without a chance for bond — is illegal.

Last night, four more judges added to the growing list: www.politico.com/news/2025/09...

I will donate $50 to the charity of your choosing if you can produce a single example of the New York Times telling a source they can't be quoted because they are "too dishonest."

Offer is open to NYT employees, btw!
I spoke with the NYT Magazine a while ago but have now heard that an editor said they can't quote me because I'm "too liberal" to be a trusted source.

You know what's always the first example conservatives use to claim I'm "too liberal"?

My work in the 1619 Project, organized by the NYT Magazine.

This is really good and makes a powerful argument for why, and how, Democrats in Congress can put the brakes on the madness. If they don't, they are even more lazy and corrupt than I thought they were.

"The playbook here is similar to the right wing’s caricature of the “woke mob,” except that the right-wing mob has the full backing of state and federal governments." An important read.
After a decade of handwringing about lefty college students threatening free speech, conservatives led by Bari Weiss are now campaigning to fire college professors. From Ryan Cooper: trib.al/NrKTkGO

Unlike what some of his obituaries claim, Charlie Kirk was "not a champion of free speech," says @jeffsharlet.bsky.social, who details Kirk's support for McCarthyist censorship.

If I have any credibility with you from 20 years of reporting on rightwing & fascist movements, please listen when I beg you not to celebrate Charlie Kirk getting shot. Leave aside morality: this isn’t a match in dry grass, it’s a torch. We do not want what this could ignite & we would not win.

Stephen Miller says they are “actively looking at” suspending the writ of habeas corpus, which is only allowed when the US has been invaded or during an insurrection, which would not allow people to challenge their incarceration in court if they are arrested and detained.
