(and like others have pointed out, guys like Danny Brown have made MUCH more abrasive sounding music, to plenty of underground acclaim; so calling a song the worst ever because, I said “oh my god” as the hook, like, really, that’s it?)

I mean shit, the people on RYM mostly just do hyperbolic over-the-top AVGN type shit that feels more like a creative writing exercise than a genuine review, but at least they’re TRYING. But just playin the song and expectin it to be self-evident, JUST cause it sounds unconventional, that’s BO-RING!

It’s really shown me just how LAZY this content is. And, hey, I get it: randos that are mad that I ripped on their favorite rapper wanna tear me down a peg too, right? But, as a content creator myself, I know how low-effort it is to JUST type “WORST SONG EVER” over a video clip you downloaded.

and 2: there's literally rap verses in some of those Huntr/x songs, so it's not like there's NO rap verses AT ALL, there's just no song that's explicitly a rap song start-to-finish from a black American rapper, but again, that's such a limited way to think about what's considered rap/hiphop anyways.

...avoid making a declarative statement by turning said statement into a question) completely ignores that hiphop as a culture is bigger than mainstream chart spaces, so judging it's relevance by Billboard, which mostly has pop-rap in the charts anyways, is such a skewed way to frame the discourse;
