Making us choose between horrific and bad is the fault of the parties

Don't blame individuals for being given two horrible choices.

Only us in Alaska could use ranked-choice voting wish it was other places as well

There is a bipartisan bill in the state Senate that includes municipalities as well! Pushed by Hwang and Osten.

That's a great idea! Ranked Choice Voting with open primaries are currently used in statewide races in Alaska and Maine. It can happen, we just need to fight for it.

See if there is a group pushing for election improvements in your state.

Sounds sort of like proportional representation. Which is used in this way in Germany's elections.

You're right, It will hurt candidates. It will also push them further towards the extremes.

Republican representatives would not have to "fall in line" if they were elected through ranked choice voting, they could afford to disagree with their party, ex Alaskan Senator Murkowski (rcv elected)

Hi Lesley! Ranked Choice Voting is an improvement to voting where you can rank candidates based on how much they align with your views.

Ranked Choice Voting could let you choose the best of multiple Democratic or Republican candidates, rather than just the one that each party puts forward.

Maine just passed a ballot measure (with 75% of the vote!) to limit campaign contributions to $5000. I wonder if more state ballot measures or amendments like this might be passed.
