I talk about fire/life safety, politics, Disney, and more. Left-leaning, proudly non-partisan, anti-NRA, anti-war, a non-driver, and a Masshole.
The best way to advocate for getting it allowed is to comment on this: public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2025-19812.pdf

Are there actual code sections at issue here or are the fire marshals making up requirements that do not exist? If the latter, they should be taken to court because "shirt-pocket" rules are a violation of due process.

This is a great reason why a psychological assessment and anger management courses should be required before someone can get a gun license. (Indiana has the opposite: permitless carry.)

Don’t you mean Expedition Everest without the yeti?

What the?! This seems like it was intentionally designed to sabotage the single-stair allowance.

What's the poison pill? Is it something extremely intricate like a bill of attainder?

There's a very good reason why I like to call Texas (and the rest of the Bible Belt) Howdy Arabia.

Don't forget Guam and the other US territories, too.

The only oath the OK actually keeps is an oath to the MAGA cult.

I assume the windows alone would be a lot more expensive in the US because of the need/desire for them to be bulletproof.

Perhaps The Guardian is scared of being sued in a frivolous defamation lawsuit by Trump?

Apparently there's something crammed in there that has nothing to do with reopening or appropriations. (a great reason why Congress needs something many states have: a single-subject rule.)

Congressional Deal Would Ban Many Hemp THC Products, While Excluding Provisions To Let VA Doctors Recommend Medical Marijuana - Marijuana Moment
Newly released spending legislation negotiated by congressional leaders would federally recriminalize many hemp-derived products. It also excludes provisions previously passed by the House and Senate ...

Are you asking about Trump? He and the rest of the GOP are addicted to fossil fuels (a great reason why politicians should have to dress like racing drivers.)

Why didn't you ask Rubio why criticism of Israel seemingly isn't considered free speech anymore? (oh wait, wrong Rubio)

M4L blocked me on X when I asked about the school-to-prison pipeline. Clearly they do not care about liberty. (Especially now when any law enforcement interaction risks being turned over to ICE even with legal status. Maybe putting cops in schools, colleges and universities isn't such a good idea?)

It's not just the UK... the US government has shown a ton of similar hypocrisy. (e.g. Section 702)

In many countries it's still government-owned but separate from regulatory roles or the annual appropriations process. (so they don't have a billionaire owner or stockholders)
Think something like USPS or Amtrak.

No wonder why fossil-fuel-addicted politicians hate China so much.

This is yet another symptom of extreme localism. Regionalizing public services (not just transit) would improve a lot of things.

Doesn't the MTA have several security guard contracts? Couldn't they use these guards to check fares?
November 9, 2025 at 10:18 PM
Trump can't pardon someone who was convicted in another country. (Of course, like many US politicians, he may totally ignore the sovereignty of other countries.)

The establishment loves war and doesn't care at all about war crimes.

I asked them on X about the school-to-prison pipeline and they blocked me. Doesn't seem like they actually care about liberty.

Does this disenfranchisement also prohibit running for office? (The constitutional amendment should arguably have a rule that anyone who's ineligible to vote is also ineligible to run for office - thus closing the "Trump loophole" for any state office.)
November 8, 2025 at 6:40 PM
I wouldn't be surprised if this disenfranchisement is why TN made public camping a felony.
