Just read a fantastic paper showing how dendritic morphology defines local computational subunits—letting neurons process synaptic input locally before it ever reaches the soma.

For the first time study shows the use of optogenetic tools in human hippocampal brain slices. Using High-Density Multiarray Electrodes researchers captured both spontaneous neuronal activity and light-evoked responses. 🧠💡
