I had the pleasure of reading both these books in the last few weeks. At the end of reading Simpson, I realise that one of these books was pretty surface level. Well written but surface level.

A decade in I still cannot spell bureaucratic correctly at the first go. But then again I also spelled my name ramay this am, again. 😐

When in doubt, go to the river. No one else could have written this. And no one else’s book would I have read with such gusto. Had the honour of walking in his shadow as I audited his rivers class at Yale in 2012. That class is the basis of a river class I hope to teach someday. ❤️
