I don’t usually get such a colorful wake up. Typically it’s coffee in bed & the morning news, which to be fair isn’t such a bad start, either. But I was happy I forgot to remove my alarm on holiday.
Something about an urban sunrise that gets the magic flowing.

Yup, goodbye editors, designers, translators etc. 2 reasons why I care - firstly, these are colleagues whose considerable skills are being relegated to AI. A human edits sensitively, with nuance. An AI editor ticks boxes. More selfishly, authors are the next obvious step. It’s all connected

Monday blues? What be those? Today I’m going to do some writing here & then go for a nice, long walk in the sunshine. Happy to give up security, sick leave & all, for the freedom to plan my life the way I want to. Could do without that 🏗️ in the distance though 😂

The simplest of things inspire a new story. It’s been a while since I sat down to write for the sheer joy of it, but a walk within an old palazzo in my hometown of Żebbuġ, Malta, got my mind wandering happily again.
