Don't scapegoat people with mental illness for shootings. 97%/shooters are not diagnosed with any mental health issues. Biggest indicators for being a shooter are being: conservative; a young man; a spousal abuser. Meanwhile, neurodivergent people are more likely to be victims of violence and abuse.

You've lost the thread. The country was founded on political violence--an armed revolution. If you and the Dems continue to fail to effectuate real, positive change, violence is the obvious systemic outcome. You're saying, "Sit there and take it, because we won't help." You are enabling fascism.

I also just realized the irony of a writer for a magazine called 'Jacobin' cowering at the thought of a politically violent backlash from the right. In the French Revolution, the Jacobins were responsible for the Reign of Terror. I guess they need to change their name. Maybe 'Le Petit Chat' instead?

It seems to be that these pundits and politicians are not working class; and unlike in the past, the bourgeosie libs have decided not to express solidarity this time. Because they're afraid they could be next. So maybe they should do a better job defending our rights. Hard to do with no spine.

The goal of capitalism is to take advantage of material resources (extraction) and human resources, i.e. labor (exploitation) to increase personal profit. That's the system. Yes, the "Nordic system", or any version of capitalism, is exploitative. The quantity does not change the quality.

4/ Unfortunately, there is no such thing as 'leftist capitalism' or 'green capitalism'. I wish there were, because I like buying cool stuff too, but there simply isn't. Capitalism was founded on slavery/colonialism and is inherently extractive and exploitative. It literally is killing our planet.
