Thanks for tuning in! The Double Zeta is a pretty fun build so far, not as posable as other kits I’ve built but still a lot of moving parts for the transformation gimmick.

Took a break from streaming this weekend to go to the Gundam Base pop-up in my state. Took nearly half an hour to get into the parking lot because an NFL game was happening nearby, but it was still a fun time and I even got a few kits for the backlog.

As a 1/100 scale kit, you can see how big REX is compared to a Gundam. The kit is also surprisingly flexible and you can pull off some pretty dynamic poses, though you will need to use the included stand a majority of the time.

This kit is very detailed, but requires some paint to get it accurate to the game model. I added dark gray and silver to a few areas, some light gray on the armor to simulate the inner frame poking through, and yellow to the railgun and radome. The missiles I painted red out of personal preference.

Metal Gear REX is complete! This was my first Kotobukiya kit and I found it pretty enjoyable, aside from some minor complaints such as shallow panel lines and a few pieces that like to fall off. Didn’t feel that much different from building a Bandai kit. #gunpla

Thanks for tuning in yesterday! REX has a lot of details on its armor and some of those panel lines are pretty shallow, so I recommend either re-scribing them or using a darker color for lining. I added metallic blue paint to the front sensor and dark gray in the hip sockets and vulcan pods. #gunpla

The Grace is super posable thanks to its inner frame and also comes with a number of accessories. Only downside is that the back cannon has to be taken out and out back in backwards to pose it over the shoulder, but it can be mounted on either side of the backpack.

This kit was a lot of fun to build, but definitely not for beginners. Those yellow details are separate parts and tiny, so they’re easy to lose if dropped. This is a 1/144-scale kit, so the same as a High Grade or Real Grade Bandai kit.

Thunder Incise Grace is complete! I added metallic teal paint to the sensors and cannon as well as gunmetal and silver to the blades. #gunpla

Thanks for tuning in! We were able to get the Grace’s limbs assembled this weekend, and they’re very intricate for a kit this small and cheap. The cannons are also built into the arms, otherwise I would have built them with the other accessories. #gunpla

Since it shares a frame with the Unit 01, this kit is quite flexible and can pull off some dynamic poses. If you have another Evangelion RG, you can put them in some pretty silly positions. #gunpla

Aside from the regular 209mm rifle, the Unit 02 also comes with a Thunder Spear railgun that can fold up and a pair of unique knives. These are not stored in the shoulders like the Unit 01’s. #gunpla

The molding of the armor is similar to a human’s musculature Aside from the head, there are other small differences between the Unit 02’s design compared to the Unit 01 such as the chest plate and shoulders binders. #gunpla

Real Grade EVA Unit 02 is done! Definitely a comparatively simpler build than the Sky Defender, but still fairly intricate being an RG kit. #gunpla
