Tbh, I agree. In my first watcher playthrough, they were just a non-issue. Maybe I was lucky, but they never blocked my progression, as there were always alternate routes.

Though having more ways to interact with them as they are now is neat.

Also they are food for Coral/Peach lizards, is cute.

I heard someone's initial impressions of that last part being like Watcher looking back from where they came, seeing everything had begun unraveling/falling apart after they traveled through. Thought it sounded kinda neat.

Also yeah barnacles are painful, but I do really enjoy how later on you can just effectively ignore em. Also jellyfish work well on em.
