I think I finally know what’s pissed me off so much. Yes, it was sucking with the shutdown and the naked cruelty, but America had started to move & pull together like we did during the darkest days of the Great Depression. We were starting to work together WITHOUT them. They stole that from us.

One of Durbin’s best friends in Congress was the late, great Rep. John Dingell. I think Dingell’s courage gave Durbin courage. A reminder to @durbin.senate.gov —John died on his feet fighting for public lands, seniors, & all of us. While cancer was killing him. To the end. He would be so ashamed.

In case you think the flights in and out of Anchorage aren’t that many. Losing 63 flights/day will be disruptive and dangerous in circumstances where people are moving around the state to get medical care.
